About: At LFM we care about helping local artists to succeed. That's why we've created many projects and programs to cultivate local talent and gain exposure for our creative scene. All the entries in the Music Video Showcase are either by local directors or local musicians. First launched in 2005, the goal of MVS is to give both local filmmakers and musicians a chance to "rock the big screen!" The event now occurs annually as part of the Indie Memphis Film Festival, which attracts over 5,000 audience members. Cash awards for both "Best Music Video" and "Audience Choice"!
The purpose of this event is to connect musicians and filmmakers, to encourage collaborations and to inspire creativity. Connect. Collaborate. Create.

Gonerfest 2: Electric Goneroo DVD/CD is a really impressive two-disc, two-hour collection that captures the garage-rock and punk chaos that ensued when like-minded bands (and like-minded fans) from all over descended on Memphis. - Chris Herrington, Memphis Flyer, 11/2/06

The My Memphis Web Series:
Memphians themselves are the major focus of this project,
for these are the individuals that make our city an exceptional place
to live. We highlight the people, places, and events-the entertainment,
lifestyles, sports, nightlife, and community-that make Memphis
a distinguished city.
The My Memphis Mission:
Our mission is to bring our audience a thorough understanding
of what makes Memphis unique-our people! Wally Joe, Roxanna Kawas,
Craig Brewer and Lily Afshar, have only one place they call home-Memphis.
These are some of the individuals that make this city the
place to be.
"Creative communities are vibrant, humanizing places, nurturing
personal growth, sparking cultural and technological breakthroughs, producing
jobs and wealth and accepting a variety of lifestyles and culture (Memphis
Manifesto)" My Memphis is dedicated to helping our community realize
and enjoy its full potential.
