Memphis - Music News

This past Tuesday at the Rose Theatre on the campus of The University of Memphis, Fred Jones, Jr. was the recipient of the 2010 Authur S. Holmon Lifetime Achievement Award, the highlight of the Black Student Associations' Black History Month Opening Reception.

Known mostly for the Southern Heritage Classic, Summitt Management Corp and the promoter that brings us the Tyler Perry plays, he and his company, Fred Jones Productions, are most responsible for keeping Urban Concerts alive and well in Memphis over the past three plus decades.  When I first began Kingdom Concerts & Events, LLC it was my attempt to emulate this living, breathing hero of mine, in the industry that he taught me to both love and appreciate.
