Flipside is kinda like a Smörgåsbord of Memphis

"I don't know where to begin," is usually what I'd say when faced with a diverse helping of food. I could pretty much say the same thing about writing this review of Live from Memphis' Flipside that was recently featured at the 2009 Indie Memphis Film Festival.
Flipside is a bevy of short clips jam-packed wqith Memphis staples that lots of Memphians (myself included) didn't even know existed! And come to think of it, it's a pretty damn effective tourism marketing tool, because this past weekend I went to RiverArtsFest, ate Central BBQ, read new posts on the Neosoulville blog, volunteered to take the children of the Neighborhood School's bikes to Revolutions for some much-needed repair, and blogged for Live from Memphis.
Flipside should be distilled, bottled, and shoved down the throats of anyone who says "there's nothing to do in Memphis." That'll shut 'em up or hopefully get them out of their houses to experience our city!
I truly loved the engaging and intimate look at just some of the people, places and things that make our city thrive. I can't wait to see the next series of Flipside, I've definitely got an appetite for more Memphis!
