Lawrence "Boo" Mitchell took his father's place at the helm of the vintage MCI Soundboard and is prepared to usher in a new era of Memphis music in the same space that helped give Memphis its status as the storied city of rock, blues, and soul.

Too often we see the historic sites of Memphis torn down and erased from memory or entombed and displayed as a icon of bygone days. With the passing of legendary music producer Willie Mitchell in January of 2010 it could be easy to think that the days of Hi-Records, Al Green, and Ann Peebles and Royal Studios would fade away. Not so.
