Sex Cult! Sex Cult! Sex Cult!

One of my favorite bands in Memphis, Sex Cult plays punk reminiscent of 70s bands such as The Buzzcocks and The Victims.
I first saw them at the Dairy House in February 2011 with Manatees and Girls Of The Gravitron. Since then, they’ve played a slew of killer shows and will release their second record tonight. The first, a 3-song EP, came out on Goner in September, and this month they’ve released another single on Nashville's Dead. Tonight they will throw a record release party for their new 7” at the Buccaneer Lounge (1368 Monroe Ave) with Feral Beat, Moving Finger, and True Sons of Thunder. This will be their first local show since their appearance at Gonerfest 8 in September so you don’t want to miss it.

Here they are playing the song from their new 7", "Plain Jane":
